30-crown-place - Samsung Asset Management
CWI was faced with a challenge to find an effective strategy to approach Korean investors wanting to invest overseas, especially in gateway cities of European countries. One of the key factors in investor retention was to find a suitable investment target that meets the condition favoured by institutional investors in Korea, and securing the investment without local competition.
CMG of C&W Korea provided key local market knowledge and strategic advisory that enabled CWI to gain in depth understanding of Korean institutional investors. CMG held regular meetings with major institutional investors in Korea to get an up to date investment requirements and market intelligence, which was relayed to CWI for sourcing of the suitable investment structure. CWI was able to establish long term relationship and strategic partnership with some of the major institutional investors in Korea.
CWI was able to secure an off-market office transaction from Hannover Leasing, a German fund who was the owner of an asset located in 30 Crown Place, London EC2. With a partnership with Samsung SRA Asset management, real estate asset management branch of Samsung Life Insurance, 7 LPs were secured to make a commitment, which C&W Korea CMG and CWI worked closely to complete the investment approval processes.
