Global real estate adviser Cushman & Wakefield Korea has been successfully representing WeWork in Seoul.
WeWork’s first location in Korea will be located in Hongwoo 1 Building with the size of approx. 6,500 sq m at Gangnam Station, one of the busiest office and retail districts in the city. The building was chosen for its location in a neighborhood with a varied business landscape – Gangnam is home to many large companies as well as start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures – as well as easy commuter access via public transportation from all parts of the city.
Ryan Lee, Cushman & Wakefield Korea’s Head of Global Occupier Services said: “I am much delighted that C&W has been able to have the unique opportunity to lease the first space of WeWork in Seoul, who is one of the most leading start-up firms in the spotlight. We expect to see a lot of interest from clients and experts with an appealing array of quality retailers nearby and good amenity facilities which is common in WeWork’s centers world-wide.”
Matt Shampine, Managing Director, WeWork Asia-Pacific, said: “Long a hub for major global companies, Seoul is now an up-and-coming city for entrepreneurs, startups, and creatives. It’s a destination for multinational companies looking for a base in Korea, well-known corporates, and now, WeWork members from Seoul and around the world. We couldn't be more excited to come to Seoul, and this building in the Gangnam neighborhood is a great place to start.”
